Commercial Truck Equipment Expands Terex Distribution Territory into Eastern Canada

Canada’s Largest Utility Equipment Supplier Awarded Eastern Canada Distribution Territory Resulting in Canada-Wide Distribution Rights for Terex Corporation Utility Products

DELTA, BC, July 12, 2021 – Commercial Truck Equipment has been awarded the Eastern Canadian sales and distribution territory by Terex Corporation (NYSE:TEX) for their utility equipment. Previously the exclusive supplier of Terex utility equipment for Western Canada, Commercial Truck Equipment is now authorized to sell Terex’s industry-leading digger derricks and aerial devices from coast to coast in Canada.

With the expansion of its utility business into Eastern Canada, Commercial Truck Equipment has also recently launched a utility-focused brand, Commercial Utility Equipment (comutility.ca), to further emphasize its focus and commitment to serving Canada’s utility industry. Ownership, management, staff, and locations remain unchanged, and Commercial Utility Equipment will operate alongside Commercial Truck Equipment and Commercial Emergency Equipment (comemerg.ca) as part of an updated portfolio of focused brands that comprise the Commercial Group of Companies (comgroup.ca).

Over the last 20 years, we’ve made Terex the dominant utility equipment brand in Western Canada. We are thrilled about the opportunity to bring our utility equipment expertise to the Eastern Canadian utility equipment market,” said Steve Tatone, President of Commercial Truck Equipment. “We’ve heard from utility customers that they want comprehensive solutions to their problems and a full-service approach to fleet equipment, not just access to products. Given our local customer service, in-house engineering, custom fabrication capability, on-the-ground parts inventory, and Eastern Canadian branches, we can provide that and more for this region,” he added.

The dealer territory expansion agreement comes into effect August 20, 2021. Commercial Utility Equipment is particularly well-positioned for this Eastern Canadian territory expansion as they have been providing Eastern Canadian utility customers with parts, service and rentals for over 15 years under the Commercial Truck Equipment brand, which will continue to operate in the region. To further support this milestone expansion, Commercial Utility Equipment will complete construction of a significant expansion of its current production facility in Woodstock, ON in February 2022. These additional dedicated, state-of-the-art production bays will further support the timely delivery of Canadian-built equipment to Eastern Canadian customers.

We feel that the Eastern Canadian utility equipment market has been underserved for a long time, and we’re very excited to finally be able to bring Terex Utility equipment to the Eastern Canadian utility customer, most of whom we already have excellent relationships with. This is a huge win-win for everyone involved,” said Steve Chapman, Commercial Truck Equipment Director of Operations.

Terex digger derricks and aerials will be available shortly from Commercial Utility Equipment for all Eastern Canadian provinces. In addition, Commercial Utility Equipment will maintain a significant selection of Work Ready equipment in stock and available for purchase and has production capacity reserved for custom projects and unique needs.
