Danco Equipment Inc.

In 1969 Danco Equipment opened its doors in Calgary to meet the growing demand in Alberta’s resource and industrial sectors for truck equipment including cranes and winches imported from Europe.

The products were an instant success and by 1973, operations had expanded to locations in Edmonton, Saskatchewan, and Vancouver. The product line grew with the company and by the early 1980’s it included a broad line of complementary products such as drive shafts, drive systems, dump bodies, tailgates and lighting.

While the full product line was available across western Canada, each branch also developed regional expertise servicing a variety of industries. Calgary specialized in servicing the oil and gas industries with articulating cranes for well service and recovery winches with pull capacities up to 150,000 lbs for moving drilling platforms. Edmonton became experts in snow and ice removal systems and Regina became experts in drive systems, hydraulics and product pumps.  The Surrey location thrived in providing equipment for the construction and forestry sectors.

The owners of Danco Equipment were ready to retire at a time when Commercial Equipment was experiencing rapid growth;  Danco’s product lines fit perfectly with Commercial Equipment’s goal of becoming the largest supplier of truck equipment in Canada.  Commercial acquired Danco’s product lines in 2010 and Danco’s years of expertise continue in our company today.
