Commercial Truck Equipment is looking to add a Full-Time Permanent Shipper/Receiver in our Calgary branch.  We are looking for an individual who is detail-oriented and will thrive in a multi-functional, busy environment.

The Shipper/Receiver is responsible for incoming and outgoing shipments of a variety of goods, including but not limited to parts, large equipment, and office documents.  An individual with strong knowledge of small warehouse operations, manufacturing, and production with the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision/direction would be a great fit.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Maintain an organized yard and warehouse using the forklift
  • Local driving to shuttle parts and supplies; vehicle provided
  • Loading and unloading trucks/trailers with a forklift
  • Counting of off-site Vendor Managed Inventory at our customers’ facilities
  • Ensure accurate receipts of incoming purchase order goods
  • Label, put away, and bin-locate incoming inventory and supplies.
  • Administer quality control inspections on incoming purchase order receipts
  • Receive and process customer return orders
  • Provide support to the Warehouse Manager when demand requires
  • General labour duties such as warehouse and yard maintenance
  • Working outdoors in all elements
  • NO SHIFT WORK. This is a full-time position with possible advancement in all departments

Qualifications and Experience

The successful applicant will have a mix of the following qualifications and experience. Commercial is looking for someone who has the experience to make a smooth transition into this position and to hit the ground running.  We will consider candidates from all backgrounds and industries.

  • Valid AB driver’s license (driver’s abstract must be provided)
  • 2 years’ experience as a warehouse receiver, shipper, or inventory clerk
  • Forklift operator certificate is considered an asset, not a requirement
  • Experience in customer service is considered a major asset
  • Post secondary education in logistics, warehouse, or transportation is an assetIdeally, be computer literate.
  • Knowledge of the industry would be an asset.
